I’m Sarah, a 35yr old married mother of two amazing little boys! I’ve always been keen on keeping fit enjoying different hobbies throughout my life but the real journey started after I had my children. Although I was incredibly proud of my body for growing these little humans and giving them life, I wasn’t used to or comfortable with the way it looked anymore. I went out for tea with a good friend of mine who had been working with a personal trainer and was fascinated to hear all about her story of success from doing so. I made the decision that this was exactly what I needed to get myself back in shape! I signed up to a 12 week package initially & started training straight away. It wasn’t (and still isn’t) easy, fitting training around a 2yr old & 6mth old along with completely changing my eating habits but I quickly realised it was worth it! Within 6mths I was back to how I looked before having kids.
By then things had changed for me. It was no longer about having the pre baby body back but more about what my body could achieve. Things I could do that I couldn’t do before. I was setting goals & achieving them & that excited me, I’d got ‘the bug’ I fell in love with weight training, the way it toned & shaped me, the way it made me stronger but most of all the satisfaction it gave when something that had once felt impossible was achieved.
I decided to keep training on my own having gained some knowledge on how to train & how to fuel my body with the right foods. Fast forward a couple of years and I was still enjoying it so much I decided I wanted to train to be a PT myself & help others who find themselves just not knowing where to start. I completed my exams studying when the boys were asleep & continued with my training. I’ve overcome barriers, conquered goals & continue to set new ones that I’m striving to reach along with further qualifications that are underway. There have been tired days, sore days, can’t be bothered days & feeling like a failure days but they are the days that make the successes even more worthwhile.
